About Us

Claim The Sky was born during a work sabbatical. As a twenty year educator suffering burn out, I returned to childhood interests to find satisfaction, calm and peace of mind. Drawing, playing in an artistic space, reminded me of how much I enjoy the creative process. And for no purpose other than to do something because it was fun. One day I thought to myself, 'I'd like that on a t-shirt'.

The name Claim The Sky is borrowed from Maya Angelou's Caged Bird. A nod to seeking the sense of freedom and joy we all aspire to feel. A call to action: do something, be something. A reminder that it this now, in this moment, that we live our lives.

Much of the this endeavour is centred on a desire to shed light on mental health awareness, sometimes my politics, and sometimes ... just something silly.  I have little ambition in making this a killer sales platform. I'm enjoying learning how to do something new. If you like what's happening here, join in.
