Who is important?

If you want to know who is truly important in any workplace, pay attention to what happens when different groups are absent. When management is away, does the work still get done? Do they need to be replaced for things to keep moving? Or do the staff just find a way to keep getting the job done?

Think about a school. If all the administrators are away, the expectation is that teachers will still teach their classes. The schooling still happens. But what happens if all the teachers are away?
